Help Center

A practical guide to what this platform is for and how to find your way around it — from the map filters to the criteria used to define which outdoor media assets are part of this inventory.

About the platform

This platform brings together, on a single map, the outdoor media (OOH) inventory surveyed for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027™ across its eight Brazilian host cities: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Porto Alegre, Salvador, Recife and Fortaleza.

Over the course of several months, each host city administration identified and catalogued urban media assets — bus shelters, static and digital billboards, street furniture and similar structures — located within the areas defined by FIFA for this inventory: around stadiums, official event venues and protocol routes. That fieldwork is what populates this map.

This is a living platform. Coverage varies by city as local teams continue to submit and refine their data, and new assets are added as they're confirmed.

Using the map

  • City — pick one host city, or "All Cities" for a country-wide overview.
  • Point of Interest / Road of Interest + Radius — select a stadium, an official venue or a road, then a radius (from 500 m to 5 km) to see the assets around it. This mirrors the same distance criteria used to define the inventory itself.
  • Neighborhood — narrows the results to a specific district within the selected city.
  • Company — filters by media operator/provider; the selection is kept when you switch cities.
  • Apply Filter / Clear — applies the combination of filters above, or resets them.
  • Map style — next to the zoom controls, switches between street, satellite, terrain and dark map styles.
  • Markers — clicking a point on the map opens its details, along with buttons to open the exact location in Google Maps or, where available, Street View.
  • Statistics tab — totals for the current filter, broken down by asset type, company and neighborhood.
  • Table tab — the full record list, searchable and sortable by column, with a full-screen view and an Excel export.

What's mapped

Each entry in this inventory is a media or urban furniture asset found within one of the areas below, as defined for this survey:

  • Stadiums — within a 1 km radius, outside the security perimeter.
  • Draw event (Rio de Janeiro) — within a 500 m radius of the venue.
  • FIFA Fan Festival — within a 100 m radius of each official site.
  • Protocol Routes — roads connecting airports, ports and major train stations to the stadiums.
  • Airports — strategic locations inside terminals.
  • Public transport — routes and corridors serving the stadiums directly.

For each asset, the record includes — when available — its site/area, exact address, provider, media type, supplier reference code, dimensions and estimated cost, plus an updated photo and a direct Google Maps link.

FIFA scope disclaimer

The map's Radius filter lets you explore freely — from 100 m to 5 km around any Point of Interest or Road. That range is a navigation convenience, not the official inventory boundary. FIFA set a different, fixed criterion for each type of area, and only that criterion defines what belongs in the official inventory:

SiteOfficial FIFA criterion
Stadium1 km radius, outside the security perimeter
Draw event (Rio de Janeiro)500 m radius
FIFA Fan Festival100 m radius per venue — see list below
Protocol RoutesFull length of the roads connecting airports, ports and major train stations to the stadiums — not a fixed radius
AirportsStrategic locations inside terminals — a specific point, not a radius
Public transportRoutes/corridors serving the stadiums directly — linear, not a radius

When assembling the table for FIFA's inventory, always apply the radius above for each site — wider radii (2–5 km) in the filter are for general exploration only and should not be presented as the official inventory.

FIFA's consolidated table also asks for specific fields. Here's how they map to this platform:

This platform is a support tool to consolidate and visualize the survey carried out by host cities together with media companies — it does not, by itself, replace the official inventory submitted to FIFA. Final validation, photographing each asset, and formally submitting the dossier remain the responsibility of the host city and its media partners.

Partner companies

Every media asset is linked to the company that owns or operates it. Use the Company filter on the map, or click a marker's popup, to see which operator manages a given asset. The Companies page lists every partner with the contact details and logo on file for each of them.

Assets — KPIs and data quality

The Assets page (chart icon in the top menu) gives a consolidated, cross-city view of the full inventory: totals by company, by asset type and by host city, plus the share of records with all key fields filled in.

Its main purpose is to surface geolocation and data-entry issues that are hard to spot row by row. Every asset is automatically checked against five criteria:

  • Distance outlier — statistically far from that city's cluster of points of interest (stadium, airport, Fan Festival site): the most distant 5% of assets in each city.
  • Isolated — no other asset nearby, sitting apart from the rest of that city's cluster (the most isolated 5%).
  • Duplicate coordinates — the exact same latitude/longitude shared by more than 3 different asset IDs, a common copy-paste symptom.
  • Incomplete record — missing company, type, neighborhood, dimensions or cost.
  • Rejected on import — rows the spreadsheet import already drops today because their coordinates don't resolve to any host city, listed here with the reason instead of disappearing silently.

Each category expands into a table with the reason and a direct link to the location on Google Maps. The same city/company/type filters and a free-text search apply to the full asset table below the panel, with a "flagged only" status filter to jump straight to what needs review.

Clicking any row — in the full table or inside any quality category — opens a detail card with everything needed to find and fix that record: company name and logo, every field on file, and a "Where to fix this" box naming the exact spreadsheet tab (host city) and row number to edit. When the row has valid coordinates, a small map is shown too; for Isolated and Distance outlier cases specifically, that map plots both the asset and its reference point (the nearest neighbor, or the host-city cluster center) connected by a line, so it's visually clear which direction and how far off it sits — not just a distance in km.

A flag is not necessarily an error — it highlights the most statistically unusual cases in each city so a human can confirm whether they're legitimate.

Frequently asked questions

A city shows no data on the map. Why?
That host city's administration is still finalizing its survey. Points appear automatically as the underlying data is updated.
How do I contact a media company about a specific asset?
Click the asset's marker on the map for its contact button, or open the Companies page to browse every partner.
What does "radius" mean in the filters?
The distance, in kilometers, from the selected Point of Interest or Road within which assets are shown.
Is the data updated automatically?
Yes — the platform syncs periodically with the base maintained by the host cities. The "Refresh" button on the map forces an immediate update.
I found an error in an asset's data. What should I do?
Use the WhatsApp contact button below to report it to the technical team.
If I filter a 5 km radius around the stadium, do those assets count toward the official FIFA inventory?
Not necessarily. FIFA set 1 km as the official radius for stadiums (500 m for the Draw event, 100 m for the Fan Festival). Wider radii in the filter (2–5 km) are for general exploration — when assembling the table for FIFA, use each area's official radius, listed in the FIFA scope disclaimer above.
Does the platform already generate the table in the format FIFA requested?
Most fields (Location, Provider, Asset Type, Size, Cost) already exist and can be exported to Excel from the Table tab. What's still missing is the Site field (which comes from the filter you used, not automatic) and an updated photo of each asset, which need to be added by the host city/media company.
